Your Privacy is Important

At Lockard Consultants, your right to privacy is important. This statement outlines Lockard Consultants Pty Ltd, trading as Lockard Consultants policy on how we manage the personal information we hold about our customers and others.

 

It is Lockard Consultants’s policy to respect the confidentiality of information and the privacy of individuals. Lockard Consultants is bound by National Privacy Principals (“NPPs”) under the privacy Act 1998 (C’th) (as amended). The following statement outlines how Lockard Consultants manages personal information that we hold about individuals in accordance with the NPPs.


Personal Information – what is it?

Personal information is any information, data or opinion (whether true or not) held about you from which Lockard Consultants can determine your identity.

 

It may range from the very private (eg medical history or condition) to the everyday (eg address and phone number). It would include the opinions of others about your work performance (whether true or not), you work experience and qualifications, aptitude test results and other information obtained by Lockard Consultants in connection with your possible work placements. Personal information includes sensitive information.


Type of Personal Information Collected

Personal information that we collect and hold usually falls into the following categories:

 

  • candidate information submitted and obtained from the Candidate and other sources in connection with applications for positions
  • information obtained to assist in managing client and business relationships

 

Purpose for Which We Hold Personal Information

Lockard Consultants primarily holds personal information for the following purposes:

 

  • permanent executive recruitment
  • contract executive recruitment
  • support and temporary recruitment
  • client and business relationship management
  • client and candidate marketing

 

How your information will be collected

Generally, Lockard Consultants collects personal information directly from you. For example, we collect personal information when you:

 

  • deal with Lockard Consultants in person, by telephone, letter, fax, email or via the internet
  • supply a resume
  • fill out and submit a registration form
  • submit any other information in connection with your application for registration

 

Personal information about you may also be collected from a third party. For example when Lockard Consultants receives:

 

  • any reference about you
  • results of inquiries of former employers, work colleagues, professional associations or registration body
  • the results of any competency or medical test
  • performance feedback (whether positive or negative)
  • any complaint from or about you in the workplace
  • any information about a workplace accident in which you are involved
  • any information about any insurance investigation, litigation, registration or professional disciplinary matter, criminal matter, inquest in which you are involved

 

How Your Information Will Be Used

Lockard Consultants will use the personal information we collect for the purpose of disclosure at the time or collection, or otherwise set out in this Privacy Policy. We will not use your information for any other purpose without first seeking your consent, unless authorised or required by law. Generally we only use and disclose your personal information:

 

  • to establish and maintain your relationship as a web-site user, client or candidate of Lockard Consultants, including providing you with interviews, newsletters, reports and other information
  • to provide the services you have requested of Lockard Consultants
  • to answer your inquiry
  • to register you for events, promotions or competitions
  • to assist us to make Lockard Consultants services more valuable to our clients and candidates
  • for direct marketing of products or services and to keep you informed of new developments we believe may be of interest to you
  • to third parties where we have retained those third parties to assist us to provide services you have requested such as psychometric evaluations, medical test and skills assessments, and in the case of candidates, to prospective contractor / employers
  • our management of any complaint, investigation or inquiry in which you are involved
  • any insurance claim or proposal that requires disclosure of your personal or sensitive information
  • to third parties who provide services to us such as IT consultants, mailing houses and function co-ordinators.

 


If you do not give us the information we seek

  • we may be limited in our ability to locate suitable work for you
  • we may be limited in our ability to place you in work

How do we keep personal information accurate and up to date?

Lockard Consultants endeavours to ensure that the personal information we hold is accurate and up to date. We realise that information needs revising with changes to addresses and other personal details. We generally update your customer information over the telephone. Please advise your consultant when your personal details change.


Access to Your Information

Subject to some exceptions that our set out in the National Privacy Principles (Principle 6 – Access and Correction), you have right to see and have a copy of the personal information that we hold about you.
 

If you are able to establish that personal or sensitive information that we hold about you is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, we will tale reasonable steps to correct it so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date.


If we are unable to agree that personal or sensitive information that we hold about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date, you may ask us to place with the information a statement by you that claims that particular information is not accurate, complete and up-to-date.

 

In some cases we may impose a moderate charge for providing access to personal or sensitive information. We will not charge simply because you lodge a request for access.
 

Changes to the Privacy Policy

Lockard Consultants may amend the Privacy Statement from time to time. We suggest that you visit our web-site regularly to keep up to date with any changes.


Your Consent to Collection, Use and Storage of Your Personal Information

By providing Lockard Consultants with your CV, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure or you personal information as set out in this Privacy Statement.

This is backed up by the following work habits:

 

  • We maintain appropriate confidentiality when dealing with our clients and candidates
  • We do not freely solicit candidates from any organisation if it brings a detriment to that organisation for the benefit of earning a placement fee
  • We do not send unsolicited resumes of any candidate to client companies without the direct permission of our candidates
  • We treat our clients in an ethical and honest manner whilst ensuring that integrity is maintained
  • We comply with all rulings made under the Equal Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination Acts
  • We act in a way that ensures trust, care and diligence is always present in the course of business
  • We never provide false or misleading information
  • At all times, we behave in a way that upholds the values, integrity and good reputation of
